At Sharavogue Crèche, we use the Aistear Curriculum and Siolta Frameworks as a guide in planning learning experiences for the children. Aistear is the Irish word for journey. This allows us to document each childs unique journey throughout their time in Sharavogue.
Aistear embraces learning and development through four interconnected themes; Well-being, identity and belonging, communicating and exploring and thinking.
Siolta is the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education. Siolta offers Principles, Standards, Components of Quality and Signposts for Reflection for childcare providers and aims to support engagement with this National Quality Framework.
We are fortunate to have plenty of outdoor space in a leafy environment providing a perfect outdoor setting for the children.
We have a number of dedicated age-appropriate areas with outdoor toys and equipment, including a covered area for the babies.
We encourage daily outdoor play for all children from the baby room onwards, weather permitting. This encourages positive growth and development of your child through opportunities to explore and play.
We follow and often exceed Tusla’s recommended child to staff ratios, creating a calm, safe, and supportive environment where children receive the attention they need to thrive. Smaller group sizes allow our team to respond thoughtfully to each child, supporting individual routines, learning styles, and emotional wellbeing.
This approach means more one on one interaction, calmer rooms, and a safer, more settled experience for every child throughout the day. It also allows staff to build strong, trusting relationships with children, helping them feel secure and confident.
