Junior Infants - 6th Class 10
Academic day: 8.55am - 2.30/3pm

In our Junior School we follow the curriculum recommended by the Department of Education. We also employ the Montessori theories allowing each child to learn at their own pace. The children are provided with a morning snack and a home cooked hot dinner daily until 3rd class.

  1. Sharavogue is a small school with small class sizes relative to the national average, it has been proven that most children learn and perform better in a small environment.

  1. Each child can learn at their own pace and work to their full potential in a group environment, regardless of age.

  1. Our belief is that all children learn differently and should have the opportunity to do so - Sharavogue provides this opportunity for your child.

  1. We believe that sport plays an important part of the child's education and development. To this end, we incorporate weekly swimming & P.E. from the junior infant stage and Hockey for the older classes.

  1. Sharavogue runs an open door policy with both Teachers and Management. We are available to discuss any issues regarding your child and his/her development as the need arises in addition to our scheduled Parent/Teacher meetings.

  1. We employ a full time Resource Teacher for one-to-one tuition where it is required.

  1. Our small environment enables us to have a flexible and sensitive approach to children's needs and encourages the growth of their confidence and self-esteem. We are confident that this prepares them both academically and socially for their move to secondary education.

  1. Sharavogue is a feeder school to some local secondary schools and we also have strong contacts with others who look favourably upon pupils from Sharavogue.

  1. Sharavogue welcomes children of all religions. We prepare children for both First communion and Confirmation should you require these.
